After years of lobbying, B.C.’s Ministry of Health is spending
$400,000 on a hepatitis B education program aimed at immigrants from
Asia who are most likely to be chronically ill with the disease.
“We’ve
been asking for this for years,” said Queenie Choo, chief executive
officer of Vancouver’s S.U.C.C.E.S.S immigrant support group. “We were
handling it off the side of our desk before.”
