Hepatitis B cure could come from Bucks County, as Baruch Blumberg hoped

Baruch Blumberg foresaw a day when hepatitis B would be erased from the world.

While a cure is still years away, scientists in Bucks County continue working on the legacy Blumberg created when he discovered the disease more than 50 years ago.

"You can see the day when this disease will be gone," said Dr. W. Thomas London, vice president of the Hepatitis B Foundation Board of Directors. "That was what his goal was. He said it publicly many times."
